Academic Information

I'm 4th year undergraduate student of Computer Science at Sharif University of Technology.
My CV is available here.

My DBLP page and Omid in Google Scholar.

Research Interests

Machine Learning, Evolutionary Methods, Multi-Agent Systems, Neural Networks, Robotics.

Software Architecture, Distributed Systems

Current and Past Activities

*  I'm currently working on fitness landscape analysis and performance analysis of local search in memetic algorithms (More details in my resume.)

*  I'm designer, main developer and maintainer of the GraphLab project's library section. GraphLab is a software project at Sharif U. of Tech. consisting of two major parts: Library and GUI. The library part is a framework designed for developing graph theory algorithms and testing graph conjectures. This software is written in Java. For more information refer to http://graphlab.sf.net/. A draft of the GraphLab Library Report can be found here.

*  I am cofounder of Helli-Respina team and intelligent coach agents, designed to compete in RoboCup international competitions. Helli-Respina soccer player agents won the Scientific Evaluation Challenge of the Simulation League in 2001 (Seattle, USA ) and Helli-Respina coach got the 2nd place in intelligent coach competitions in 2002 (Fukuoka, Japan). Helli-Respina was the first high school team that competed in the main RoboCup competitions. Linux binaries of the Helli-Respina team and coach are still available here. For more information about Coach Competition go to Multi Agent Modeling Special Interest Group . Search Google for more about Helli Respina.

*  An implementation of an image compression method using Haar Wavelets writtin in MATLAB.

*  I've put some efforts in creating an exprimental extensible framework in C++ for processing of math expressions. The software is named Diff and it's developed for my Data Structure course project but it's far more larger than an ordinary course project. The source code is available under LGPL.

Teaching

*  Spring 2005: Teaching Assistant, Sharif University of Technology, for undergraduate course, Advanced Computer Programming by Dr. Amin Farjudian, covering advanced techniques for computer programming with C++.

*  Fall 2005: Teaching Assistant, Sharif University of Technology, Data Structures course by Dr. Yahya Tabesh for undergraduate students.

*  Summer 2006: Instructor, Farzanegan High School (for gifted students), for a selected group of students, A C++ course covering basic C++ knowledge including a brief understanding data structures and generic programming
